Lecture Series: Zion Missionary Baptist Church- A Legacy of Faith

This Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church has been around for over 100 years!

Please join us as Pamela Smith speaks about their long-standing legacy in the Bakersfield area and the impact they have had on the community!

Fall Village Flea

Sunday, Oct. 4th
8 am-4 pm

Village Flea is a family-friendly marketplace at the Kern County Museum and will feature amazing vendors of antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing, art, vintage home furnishings, AND local artisan goods. There will also be local musicians, yummy food, and snacks. Fun times, for all ages!

Admission is $5
Free for 10 years and under

Lecture Series: History of Kern County through Postcards

Wednesday, Oct. 10th
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Come learn the history of Kern County through postcards! Stan Wilson’s one of a kind collection tells the story of Bakersfield and the surrounding areas in the county!

The images and stories that accompany them will blow you away as Stan explains what they are and what’s there today. Guaranteed you’ll learn something about your very own backyard!

Safe Halloween

Fri., Oct. 30th & Sat., Oct. 31st
5 pm-9 pm

Safe Halloween is the place to be for all trick-or-treaters and their parents. Visit more than 50 candy stations are open along with food, music, dancing, bouncy houses, and family entertainment in beautiful Pioneer Village.

Join us for a safe and fun Halloween evening!

Lecture Series: A View From Ridge Route

Wednesday, Nov. 4th

Ever wonder about the Grapevine or what it looked like before all those freeways were in place? Bonnie Kane can answer all your questions and more about the legendary Ridge Route that ran from Bakersfield to Los Angeles!

With a lifetime of research (and a few books) behind her, she will be at the Kern County Museum to show us what it’s all about!

Day in the Wild West

Welcome to the Wild West!

Spend a day with us we go back in the time of the myth-making cowboys, bandits, gold miners, bank robbers, and all thing folklore of the California Frontier. 

This event is family-friendly and action-packed!  More details to come.
