Fall Village Flea
Sunday, Oct. 10th, 2021
8 am-4 pm
Village Flea is a family-friendly marketplace at the Kern County Museum and will feature amazing vendors of antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing, art, vintage home furnishings, AND local artisan goods. There will also be local musicians, yummy food, and snacks. Fun times, for all ages!

Welcome to the Wild West!
Spend a day with us we go back in the time of the myth-making cowboys, bandits, gold miners, bank robbers, and all thing folklore of the California Frontier.

Safe Halloween is the place to be for all trick-or-treaters and their parents. Visit more than 50 candy stations are open along with food, music, dancing, bouncy houses, and family entertainment in beautiful Pioneer Village.

Plein Air Architecture Drawing and Painting Class for Fall 2021

Days: Mondays: September 13th, 20th, 27th, October 4th, 11th, 18th, 2021
Time: 8:30 arrive at the Kern County Museum/Pioneer Village. 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. class

Plein air is a French term describing sketching and painting on location. In this Plein Air Architecture Drawing Class, friendly to all levels of students, students will explore drawing and painting architecture at the Kern County Museum/Pioneer Village. Each week the instructor will demonstrate different drawing and painting techniques and then assist each student with their drawings and paintings of the different buildings. Some students will choose to only draw and not paint.
Students have the option of painting in any media: pastels, watercolor, oil, or acrylics.
Students will purchase a membership for $40.00 to the museum in addition to their Levan Institute tuition.
The membership card is good for unlimited visits to the museum as well as free admission to CALM/Zoo and the Buena Vista Natural History Museum on Chester Avenue.
Registration is through the Levan Institute/ Bakersfield College
Monday Morning Plein Air Classes at the Kern County Museum from 8:30 to 11 a.m. during the summer. Cost: $5.00 for KC museum members, $15.00 for non-members. Come sketch/paint architecture. Call Charlotte White at (661) 330-2676 for registration.
